Glenn Allen Lear
Glenn Allen Lear, 80, Prudenville, died Oct. 10, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, from Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, from 2 to 6 p.m. A funeral will take place Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Bryan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.
Born June 5, 1932 in Altoona, PA, he was the son of Charles D. and Anna M. (Mitchell) Lear. He married Velma Irene Crawford on Aug. 31, 1957 in Plymouth. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for a short time for the Pennsylvania Railroad and later went to work for General Motors. He and his wife moved to Prudenville 12 years ago from Westland. He was a member of the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church and loved to fish, enjoyed wood working and was known as a handyman.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 54 years, Velma Lear in Feb. 2012.
Surviving are his daughter, Roxanne (Donald) Larson of Prudenville; sons, Kevin (Pam) Lear of South Lyon and Dale Lear of Chelsea; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Molly, Justin, Mitchell and Katie; and sister, Jackie Yanataitis of Pennsylvania.
